The best postcards are the ones that begin, "Hello, Stranger"

This? This is fantastic. Utterly charming. It hit my mailbox not long ago, from a teenage correspondent in Canada.

  1. It costs 80 cents for us to send a postcard to Canada and $1.03 for them to send us a postcard....if I knew how to post a photo, I would have sent a photo of our 80-center.

  4. I'm a big fan of snail mail of all sorts when I am off in foreign places.

Among other things, it provides a handy step in converting your travel journal notes into a story of your trip.

Also, becoming known at the Post Office in small towns helps get you known in the community.

I wrote in praise of postcards on 9/26 and will write in praise of letters eventually.
